Beatles Songs at Havering Folk Club
http://andyrobertsmusic.blogspot.com/2009/07/beatles-songs-at-havering-folk-club.html
I don't know why but I felt it was time to do a couple of Beatles songs this week at Havering Folk Club. Linda likes "Here Comes The Sun" and Len had asked me to do my version some time so I was prepared to do that George Harrison song, with the capo on the 7th fret and everything. Wondering which I'd do next Terry asked for "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" so I had a go at that. I didn't quite remember all the words or all the chords, but enjoyed busking it. That's what singing live is all about sometimes. Before I forget, Helen did a song about the millenium and that reminded me that I wrote a song once about the upcoming change of century so I decided to dig that one out for next week, probably. It's called Century.

A Day in the Life
http://andyrobertsmusic.blogspot.com/2009/03/day-in-life.html
I read the news today oh, boyAbout a lucky man who made the gradeAnd though the news was rather sadWell, i just had to laughI saw the photographHe blew his mind out in a carHe didn't notice that the lights had changedA crowd of people stood and staredThey'd seen his face beforeNobody was really sure if he was from the house of lordsI saw a film today oh, boyThe english army had just won the warA crowd of people turned awayBut i just had to lookHaving read the bookI love to turn you on.Woke up, got out of bedDragged a comb across my headFound my way downstairs and drank a cupAnd looking up, i noticed i was lateFound my coat and grabbed my hatMade the bus in seconds flatFound my way upstairs and had a smokeSomebody spoke and i went into a dreamAhI read the news today oh, boyFour thousand holes in blackburn, lancashireAnd though the holes were rather smallThey had to count them allNow they know how many holes it takes to fill the albert hallI'd love to turn you on

Good to be back
http://andyrobertsmusic.blogspot.com/2009/01/good-to-be-back.html
Good to be back at Havering Folk Club in the Golden Lion, Romford again so I played Back in the Field which was a repeat since I'd played it before back in August ( two-more-andy-roberts-songs ) and then for the first time, just for fun, The Truro Agricultural ShowIt was interesting that Gary had already heard that one by somebody who is playing the other Romford Folk club in November later this year. Never say "This is song none of you will have heard before" was his advice! In the second half I had a chance to play something else and did a short medlay of two beatles song snippets I feel Fine and Every little thing
