Thanks to Sandie Ritter on the Stormcock list for posting a link to this web radio station:http://st1.webradioworld.net/tunein.php/fruk/playlist.ramThey play some interesting stuff but it's hard to find out who some of the singers are. Occasionally makes mistakes like playing Dido, but on the whole it's a nice station o have on for an hour or so while working.

The Bath and West of England Show visited Cornwall in 1861. The Royal Cornwall Show was merged with it and the combined event held at Truro. This must have been a HUGE event and the song seems to have been written as a kind of way to get the news out and gather in the crowds. A Nineteenth century equivalent to the youtube viral video.
